Weather forecast for Karachi

KARACHI, Pakistan – Showers of various intensity are forecast for sections of the southeastern province, including the provincial capital Karachi, over the next few days, according to the Met Office.

According to the latest alert from the Pakistan Meteorological Department, monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea have infiltrated upper and central sections of Pakistan, and rain would batter Karachi and other locations under the new system.

A westerly wave is also expected to hit higher areas of the country throughout the weekend, according to the forecast. Karachi’s temperature will hover between 31 and 35 degrees Celsius for the next few days, with officials warning of urban floods due to the impending rain.

The PMD warned that high-velocity winds could cause damage to decaying structures and recommended people to stay in safe areas during windstorms and heavy rains.

Meanwhile, showers and thunderstorms are anticipated in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Nagarparkar, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Sanghar, and Mirpur Khas until July 16.
