Woman Set on Fire by Husband in Bahawalnagar

In Bahawalnagar, a newlywed woman, Saba Iqbal, was tragically burned alive by her husband, Ali Raza, after enduring abuse. Saba, 19, and Ali Raza, who had a court marriage eight months ago, had been in conflict since their union. Ali accused Saba of immoral activities, which led to severe mistreatment. On July 28, Ali claimed Saba went missing after an argument, but her charred body was found the following day. Ali later admitted to his in-laws that he had killed Saba.

Police have registered a case against Ali Raza and other unidentified individuals. Ali initially claimed he murdered Saba to preserve honor, and investigations suggest his sister and brother-in-law may also be involved. In a separate incident, Haroonabad police arrested a criminal, Imtiaz, in a shootout during a robbery attempt, while his accomplices escaped.
