Youth Loan Program Expansion Prime Minister Increases Loan Limit for SMEs

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed an increase in the loan limit under the Youth Program, raising the amount from Rs 500,000 to 1.5 million. This decision was made during a review meeting on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) held in Islamabad, where the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of empowering youth and women entrepreneurs.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister called for the alignment of business facilities with international standards, drawing from models in developed nations. He also directed the creation of a special package for women entrepreneurs to support their participation in small-scale businesses.

Shehbaz Sharif stressed that SMEs are the backbone of global economic development and a priority for Pakistan’s growth. The government is committed to promoting entrepreneurship through simplified loan processes and SME-friendly policies, allowing more businesses to benefit from government assistance.

The meeting also highlighted a nationwide survey to improve facilities for SMEs, while officials discussed efforts to introduce financial literacy programs and modern technology for small businesses. The Prime Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to job creation, economic development, and support for young entrepreneurs across the country.
