In Lahore, a local court has granted a one-day physical remand of former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi to the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) in connection with various corruption cases. During the hearing, Elahi’s counsel had requested his discharge from a graft case related to the Lahore Master Plan.
Elahi was arrested shortly after being released from Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, where he was granted bail by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in a case related to rioting at the Federal Judicial Complex on May 9.

Elahi’s counsel, Sardar Abdul Razzaq, revealed that the PTI leader has been arrested at least 12 times since the protests that erupted on May 9 following the arrest of ousted Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The politician has multiple cases pending in various courts and has been repeatedly arrested in new or previously undisclosed cases each time he secures bail, leading to a legal entanglement with the authorities.
