PTI Leader Summoned in Land Case Inquiry

In Karachi, an anti-encroachment court has summoned all accused, including PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Shaikh, in a case involving the alleged occupation of government land. During the court hearing, Haleem informed that the co-accused, who belong to the PML-N, were engaged in general election preparations and were permitted to run campaigns. The court adjourned the case until February 17, ordering all accused to appear at the next hearing.

Haleem, speaking informally to the media after the hearing, expressed frustration about being arrested again in another case after obtaining bail in one. He commented on the deprivation of PTI’s election symbol, stating that it poses no problem as people nationwide know their “Kaptaan” (leader). Haleem is contesting from NA-238 with a table tennis bat as his election symbol.

In a separate development, the Sindh High Court issued notices to various authorities on a petition against alleged encroachments on a rainwater drain in Sector 5E, New Karachi. The petitioner’s lawyer submitted that houses and shops have been illegally built on the storm drain.
