The PCB is reportedly considering former cricketer Aqib Javed as Pakistan’s white-ball head coach. This move comes as the board moves away from foreign coaches, with Javed expected to take charge ahead of the Zimbabwe series starting November 24.
The decision follows strained relations with foreign staff, including former head coach Gary Kirsten, who resigned earlier this year after a challenging tenure. Jason Gillespie had temporarily filled the coaching role during the Australia series.

Javed, known for his PSL success, is anticipated to bring valuable experience to Pakistan’s limited-overs formats. After the Zimbabwe series, Pakistan faces South Africa in a packed schedule from December 10 to January 7.
The PCB hopes Aqib Javed’s leadership will revitalize the team’s performance, particularly in white-ball cricket.
