The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has proposed a tri-series involving Pakistan and the UAE, along with A team tours to Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. ACB Chairman Mirwais Ashraf and CEO Naseeb Khan attended the ICC Board Meeting in Colombo, where they also discussed potential white-ball series with Cricket South Africa, New Zealand, and West Indies ahead of the 2025 Champions Trophy.
In a press release, the ACB stated that Ashraf and Khan met with representatives from various cricket boards to present Afghanistan’s recent achievements and future plans.

They explored the possibility of bilateral white-ball cricket matches with South Africa, New Zealand, and West Indies before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Additionally, the ACB discussed A team tours to Bangladesh and Zimbabwe and a potential Youth Tri-Series with Pakistan and the UAE, with dates and venues yet to be confirmed.
The ICC commended the ACB and the Afghanistan cricket team, known as AfghanAtalan, for their impressive performances in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Under the leadership of Rashid Khan, Afghanistan reached the semi-finals for the first time, defeating teams like Australia and New Zealand before losing to South Africa.
