Pakistan Spinners Wreak Havoc As WI Middle Order Crumbles In Second Test

Pakistan

Pakistan’s spinners dominated Day 2 of the second Test in Multan, reducing the West Indies to 129/5 by lunch. Noman Ali was the star of the show, claiming four wickets as the visitors struggled to build on their slim lead of 138 runs.

Ali’s stellar spell began with the dismissal of West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite, who had scored a solid 52. A beautifully flighted delivery spun sharply, leading to a smart stumping by Mohammad Rizwan. Ali then dismissed Mikyle Louis (7) and Kavem Hodge (15), with both batters falling to lapses in judgment. Hodge was stumped after a miscalculated charge, while Louis was caught at short extra cover.

Sajid Khan joined the action, removing Amir Jangoo (30) with a well-placed delivery, while Ali trapped Alick Athanaze lbw just before lunch, leaving the West Indies in trouble. Despite the collapse, Justin Greaves remains unbeaten on 5, with the tail yet to contribute.

Earlier, the first day in Multan saw 20 wickets fall as bowlers dominated both innings. West Indies managed a modest 163 in their first innings, with Pakistan replying with 154. Saud Shakeel (32) and Mohammad Rizwan (45*) fought hard, but the hosts lost their last six wickets for just 35 runs, giving West Indies a slender lead.

The pitch continues to favor spin, setting up an intriguing contest as both sides vie for control in this closely fought Test match.
