Guardiola Admits Teams No Longer Fear Man City

Guardiola

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes teams are no longer intimidated by his side, making their Champions League campaign increasingly challenging. City sit 25th in the Champions League table, struggling with just one win in 13 matches across competitions.

Guardiola noted a shift in tactics, with teams adopting aggressive man-marking strategies. “Everyone came to the Etihad and stayed back. Now, they just go man-to-man, pressing our goalkeepers,” he said. Guardiola stressed the need for adaptability and precise passing to regain dominance.

Despite signing talents like Omar Marmoush, Vitor Reis, and Abdukodir Khusanov, Guardiola pointed to their issues in ball control and a string of injuries, including to key player Rodri. Currently fifth in the Premier League, City face Chelsea next, trailing them by two points.
