Pakistan is gearing up for a crucial third Test against England, set to begin on October 24 in Rawalpindi, but they are facing a potential setback with left-arm pacer Mir Hamza dealing with a niggle in his right glute. His participation in the match is uncertain, as he missed training on Tuesday to focus on rehabilitation rather than bowling.
During the practice session, Hamza was seen pacing the field and performing glute-strengthening exercises under the supervision of physiotherapist Cliffe Deacon. His workout included glute bridges and clam shells, aimed at regaining fitness for the important match. Reports also indicate that he sat out of bowling during the previous day’s practice, which was Pakistan’s first at the Rawalpindi venue.

In contrast, fast bowler Mohammad Ali has been bowling at full intensity and may serve as a potential replacement for leg-spinner Zahid Mehmood. Although Ali has experience playing in Rawalpindi, his performances have been subpar; since his debut against England in December 2022, he has only taken six wickets at an average of 55.50. In his last outing at this venue, he went wicketless, conceding 57 runs in 24 overs.
The Test series has been a rollercoaster for both teams. England kicked off strong with a dominant win by an innings and 47 runs in the first Test in Multan. However, Pakistan made a strong comeback in the second Test, winning by 152 runs to level the series. The upcoming match in Rawalpindi promises to be an exciting conclusion to this competitive series, with both teams eager to claim victory.
