Pakistan Officially Eliminated from Cricket World Cup 2023

In the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, Pakistan had a disappointing campaign, finishing at the fifth spot in the points table and failing to secure a spot in the top 4 for the semi-final stage.

Despite a strong start with victories over Netherlands and Sri Lanka, including chasing down the highest successful target in World Cup history (345 runs), Pakistan faced setbacks with four consecutive defeats, including losses to India, Australia, Afghanistan, and South Africa. The defeat against Afghanistan was particularly disheartening.

Pakistan bounced back with consecutive victories against Bangladesh and New Zealand. Fakhar Zaman played a crucial role in these wins, scoring the fastest hundred for Pakistan in the World Cup against New Zealand.

However, Sri Lanka’s loss to New Zealand dashed Pakistan’s hopes of reaching the semi-finals, and in the final fixture against England, Pakistan faced an impossible scenario and ultimately fell short.

The campaign had moments of brilliance but was marred by inconsistency and missed opportunities, leading to Pakistan’s early exit from the World Cup.
