On Day 4, the situation flipped, with Noman leading the charge in Multan. Sajid made a crucial breakthrough by dismissing the formidable Ollie Pope in the second over. Afterward, Noman dismantled the entire batting order, finishing with remarkable figures of 8 wickets for 46 runs, securing a memorable victory for Pakistan and leveling the series at 1-1. This achievement marks the best figures by a left-arm spinner from Pakistan in Test history.
With this feat, Noman and Sajid became the seventh pair to claim all 20 wickets in a Test match. The last duo to achieve this was Bob Massie and Denis Lillee against England at Lord’s in 1972, where Massie took 16 wickets, and Lillee claimed 4.
In this match in Multan, Noman finished with 11 wickets, while Sajid secured 9.
