Tilak Verma Sets New T20I Record with Unbeaten Streak

Indian cricketer Tilak Verma has made history by breaking a world record in T20 International cricket. The 22-year-old left-hander has accumulated over 318 runs in his last four matches for India without being dismissed, setting a new benchmark in T20 batting. Verma’s streak began with impressive knocks of 107 and 120 runs against South Africa, followed by a 19 and a recent unbeaten 72 runs against England in the ongoing series.

His remarkable feat makes him the first player in the world to score more than 300 runs in T20 internationals without getting out, surpassing the previous record of 271 runs held by New Zealand’s Mark Chapman. Verma’s consistency has now placed him ahead of Australian stars Aaron Finch (240 runs) and David Warner (239 runs), further highlighting his extraordinary form.

In India’s latest T20I victory against England, Verma’s 72* guided the team to a seven-wicket win, chasing down 166 runs in Kolkata. Despite a shaky start with India reduced to 78-5, Verma’s composure, along with contributions from Washington Sundar and Abhishek Sharma, helped the team secure the victory with four balls to spare. The win gives India a 1-0 lead in the series, with the third match in Rajkot now on the horizon.
