In a thrilling match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, India secured a narrow six-run victory over rivals Pakistan in their second T20 World Cup 2024 game.
Pakistan started strong but faltered when skipper Babar Azam was dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah for just 13 runs. Despite Mohammad Rizwan’s efforts, Pakistan struggled to maintain momentum. Usman Khan briefly supported Rizwan but fell to Axar Patel. Key batters Fakhar Zaman (13 off 8), Shadab Khan (4 off 7), and Imad Wasim (15 off 23) failed to contribute significantly.

Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav provided a brief resurgence, but Haris Rauf’s dismissal of Yadav triggered a collapse. Mohammad Amir further dismantled India’s innings, taking two wickets in the 15th over. India was bowled out for 119 in 19 overs, with Naseem and Rauf taking three wickets each, and Amir two.
