Led by Rovman Powell, the Windies chased down their target of 129 runs in just 10.5 overs, significantly boosting their net run rate in the ICC event.

This win leaves West Indies needing only a victory against South Africa in their next match to secure a spot in the semi-finals.

Shai Hope’s unbeaten 82 runs, including four boundaries and eight sixes, played a pivotal role in the team’s success. Nicholas Pooran also contributed with an unbeaten 27 runs off 12 balls, hitting three sixes and a four.

Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, West Indies restricted USA to 128 all out in 19.5 overs. Roston Chase achieved career-best bowling figures of 3-19 in four overs, supported by Andre Russell’s 3-31 in 3.5 overs.

Chase expressed satisfaction with his performance on home turf, emphasizing the spinners’ role in the team’s strategy, particularly during non-powerplay overs.

Looking forward, Chase highlighted the team’s determination to win the World Cup and emphasized the need to defeat every opponent going forward.

Andries Gous top-scored for USA with 29 runs off 16 balls, followed by Nitish Kumar with 20 runs. Ali Khan remained unbeaten on 14 runs off six balls.
