WhatsApp has started rolling out its in-app translation feature for select Android users as part of its beta version 2.25.12.25. The much-awaited tool lets users translate messages in Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, Hindi, and Russian directly within the app.
A major plus: translations are done on-device, meaning no internet connection is needed once language packs are downloaded.

The new option appears in the chat info screen and works for both individual and group chats. Users can also translate specific messages by long-pressing and selecting “Translate”.
While early translations may lack the polish of cloud-based services, WhatsApp is seeking feedback to improve accuracy. Meta assures users that privacy is maintained, as message content isn’t sent to its servers.
The feature is expected to roll out more widely after beta testing is complete.
