WhatsApp unveils feature to transcribe voice messages into text

WhatsApp has introduced a new feature allowing users to convert voice messages into text. This update caters to situations where listening to audio messages isn’t practical, such as noisy settings or while multitasking.

The transcription feature, processed locally for privacy, is activated through Settings > Chats > Voice Message Transcripts. Users can transcribe messages by long-pressing and selecting “transcribe.”

Initially supporting select languages like English, Spanish, and Arabic, WhatsApp plans to expand compatibility. This move aims to enhance communication convenience for its global user base.
