Australian Woman Allegedly Gang-Raped By Five Men In Paris

A shocking Gang-Raped incident has stirred Paris, with French police investigating the assault on a 25-year-old woman who sought refuge in a fast-food shop in the Pigalle district over the weekend. The attack occurred on the night of July 20, just days before the Olympics.

CCTV footage shows the woman entering the shop in distress, her clothing torn and worn “inside out.” Prior to the assault, she had been at bars and clubs near the Moulin Rouge, where she was reportedly confronted by the five men.

The victim described her attackers as having African appearances and said they raped her in the early hours of the morning. After fleeing, she sought help at a kebab shop, where surveillance footage shows her entering in panic and asking for assistance.

One of the assailants later entered the shop but was identified by the woman before leaving. Emergency services were called by the shop staff, and the woman was taken to a medical facility. Disoriented and struggling to communicate in French, she had difficulty providing detailed information about the assault. She is now remaining in Paris to support the police investigation.

In response, Australia’s Olympic team chief, Anna Meares, has advised athletes to be cautious, avoid going out alone, and wear plain clothes.
