The premises of Mysore Law Courts were evacuated on Tuesday morning after authorities received a bomb threat via email. The warning prompted immediate security measures and a temporary halt to all court proceedings.
Police confirmed that the Mysuru District Court received the bomb threat on January 6. Judicial officers, lawyers, litigants, court staff, and members of the public were asked to leave the building as a precaution.
A police team, assisted by a bomb disposal squad, quickly arrived at the scene. The entire court complex was cordoned off while officials carried out a detailed and systematic search to verify the threat.
Following the evacuation, court proceedings were suspended temporarily. Authorities emphasized that the move was purely preventive and aimed at ensuring the safety of everyone inside the complex. Advocates, clients, and other visitors were directed to vacate the premises immediately.
Large numbers of onlookers later gathered outside the court while police and security personnel carried out the verification and inspection process.
A senior police officer stated that the bomb disposal squad was conducting a thorough check of the entire court complex. Officials said further action would depend on the results of the security sweep.
Police confirmed that the situation remains under close observation. Court activities will resume only after authorities declare the premises completely safe.
No injuries or property damage have been reported so far. Authorities urged the public to remain calm and follow instructions while security procedures are ongoing.
This incident marks another instance where timely action by law enforcement prevented potential threats from escalating. Officials reiterated that all bomb threats are treated seriously, and thorough inspections are conducted to ensure public safety.
The Mysore District Police continue to monitor the situation closely, and updates will be shared once the security sweep is complete.
