Since October 2023, Israel has been locked in an intensifying conflict with Hezbollah. Lebanese health ministry data indicates that, over the past year, 3,136 people have been killed in Lebanon, including 619 women and 194 children, with nearly 14,000 injured.
Israeli bombardment has severely damaged Beirut’s southern suburbs, Hezbollah’s stronghold. Many buildings are now in ruins, and residents have been seen picking through debris, trying to salvage belongings.
The escalation shows no signs of abating as both sides continue daily exchanges of airstrikes and rocket attacks.
