Jake Paul secured a dominant victory over boxing legend Mike Tyson in an eight-round bout, winning by unanimous decision in front of a packed crowd at AT&T Stadium. The judges scored the fight 80-72 and 79-73 twice in favor of Paul, whose superior reach and consistent jabs kept the 58-year-old Tyson on the defensive throughout the match.
Paul, a YouTube star turned boxer, praised Tyson in his post-fight interview, acknowledging his legendary status while admitting that he was wary of Tyson’s knockout power. “I was scared he was going to hurt me,” Paul confessed, revealing that he held back on pushing for a knockout attempt. Despite his victory, Paul stopped short of calling out Mexican champion Canelo Alvarez, though he hinted that a potential high-revenue matchup between them would benefit both fighters.

Tyson, though visibly fatigued by the end, earned applause from the crowd and showed respect for Paul’s performance. He mentioned that his goal for the fight was personal, saying, “I came into the bout to prove something only to myself.” Although Tyson hinted that this may not be his final appearance in the ring, the toll of the fight was clear.
The fight saw Tyson, known for his aggressive style, initially take control of the center of the ring, but Paul’s tactical approach soon shifted the momentum. Using his longer reach and quick footwork, Paul landed a series of jabs that frustrated Tyson’s attempts to close the distance. As the rounds progressed, Paul dictated the pace of the fight, steadily accumulating points while Tyson struggled to find an opening.
In the fifth round, Paul showcased his growing confidence with a powerful right hand, drawing cheers from the crowd. Tyson, despite showing signs of weariness, rallied with a left hook that excited fans but couldn’t regain control. By the sixth round, Tyson’s corner urged him to press the attack, but Paul’s strategy of controlling the distance with his jab made it difficult for the former champion to mount a comeback.
Although Tyson’s signature power punches remained a threat throughout, he was unable to land the decisive blow needed to change the fight’s course. Paul’s consistent performance secured him a points victory, signaling his continued rise in the sport.
The event, streamed exclusively on Netflix, featured seven fights in total. The main card included notable bouts such as Neeraj Goyat vs. Whindersson Nunes in the super middleweight division, and Mario Barrios defending his WBC welterweight title against Abel Ramos. Katie Taylor faced Amanda Serrano in a headline fight for Taylor’s IBF, WBA, WBC, and WBO women’s super-lightweight titles. These high-profile matchups, along with Paul vs. Tyson, created a night of memorable boxing for fans worldwide.
