Saudi Arabia launches a new Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system for British citizens to make travel easier from July 1, 2026. The latest step is part of the Kingdomโs efforts to improve tourism and business travel under its Vision 2030 plan.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the new ETA service will be available for all types of British passport holders. The system will allow them to visit Saudi Arabia for tourism, short-term study, and business purposes.
Officials said Saudi Arabia launches this travel facility to strengthen relations with the United Kingdom. The move also follows similar travel ease measures introduced by the British government for Saudi nationals in recent years.
Under the new system, British travelers can stay in the Kingdom for up to 180 consecutive days within one year. The authorization will also allow multiple entries on a single approval, making travel more flexible for visitors.
However, authorities clarified that the ETA will not permit employment or long-term residence in Saudi Arabia. It also cannot be used for Hajj pilgrimage. Those planning to work, settle, or perform Hajj must apply for the proper visa through the regular process.
Saudi Arabia launches this initiative as part of wider reforms to simplify entry procedures. The Kingdom aims to attract more international visitors and expand its tourism sector in the coming years.
In another major development, Saudi Arabia recently introduced a new online property platform for foreign investors and residents. The platform, called Saudi Properties, allows digital applications for property ownership across the Kingdom.
The portal was launched by the Real Estate General Authority (REGA) and became active in January 2026. Officials said the platform will help open Saudi Arabiaโs real estate market to global investors and support economic growth.
