Saudi Launches Package Visa to Make Tourist Travel Easier

Saudi Arabia has introduced Package Visa, a new digital initiative designed to simplify travel for international visitors. The new system combines the tourist visa application with travel bookings, making it easier for eligible travelers to plan their trips through a single process.

The Package Visa is currently being introduced through selected qualified travel and tourism service providers in international markets. Authorities plan to expand the initiative to more countries in the coming months.

The latest move is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader strategy to make visiting the Kingdom more convenient. Over the past few years, the country has introduced several travel-friendly measures, including the tourist e-Visa, visa on arrival, and the Stopover Transit Visa.

These efforts have helped strengthen Saudi Arabia’s tourism industry. According to official figures, the country welcomed more than 29 million international visitors during 2025, reflecting continued growth in the sector.

Saudi Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al Khateeb said the new initiative demonstrates the country’s commitment to improving the travel experience for visitors. He explained that integrating visa processing with travel bookings reduces unnecessary steps and creates a smoother journey from the moment a trip is planned.

Instead of arranging flights, accommodation, and visa applications separately, eligible travelers can now complete the process through one integrated booking platform. Visitors can also include tourism experiences, events, and activities while making their travel arrangements.

Officials believe this approach will make trip planning faster and more convenient. It also allows travelers to organize their entire visit in one place before arriving in Saudi Arabia.

The Package Visa is expected to benefit both tourists and travel companies. Qualified travel providers can now offer complete travel packages that combine transportation, accommodation, visa processing, and sightseeing options.

Authorities believe these bundled services will encourage visitors to stay longer and explore more destinations across the Kingdom. This could also increase tourism spending and support local businesses.

To maintain service quality, the programme is only available through approved travel and tourism companies. These providers must meet official service standards and offer round-the-clock customer support to assist travelers throughout their journey.

The government says this requirement will help ensure visitors receive reliable assistance before and during their trips.

Saudi Arabia has invested heavily in expanding its tourism sector as part of its long-term economic diversification plans. Simplifying travel procedures remains one of the country’s major priorities.

The launch of Package Visa represents another step in that direction. By reducing paperwork and combining essential travel services into one process, Saudi Arabia hopes to attract even more international tourists.

Officials say the initiative will continue to expand as more travel providers join the programme. The government expects the new system to improve convenience for visitors while strengthening Saudi Arabia’s position as an increasingly accessible global tourism destination.
