Three Killed in Australia’s Rottnest Island Plane Crash, Including Swiss and Danish Tourists

A small aircraft crashed near Rottnest Island, located off the coast of Perth in Western Australia, on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of two tourists from Switzerland and Denmark, as well as the pilot.

The aircraft, which was carrying six tourists, went down in the afternoon near the popular tourist spot, approximately 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) west of Perth. Three of the tourists survived but sustained injuries.

Western Australia’s Premier Roger Cook expressed his condolences, stating, “My thoughts are with the families and friends of those affected.

This is undoubtedly a very challenging time for everyone involved.” He also mentioned that the crash occurred in front of several vacationing families, including those with children.

Police Commissioner Col Blanch confirmed that an investigation into the crash’s cause has been launched.
