Toddler Dies of Starvation Beside Deceased Father for Two Weeks

The tragic case of two-year-old Bronson Battersby has left a community in shock after he was found dead from starvation almost two weeks after his father, Kenneth, succumbed to a heart attack in their Lincolnshire home in the United Kingdom. The devastating discovery was made on January 9, following concerns raised by social services about the lack of response from Kenneth during a phone call on December 27.

Bronson, deemed vulnerable and subject to monthly checks by social services, had not been seen for 14 days. Social workers, visiting the residence on January 2, found no answer and returned unannounced later, discovering the lifeless bodies. The Lincolnshire County Council initiated a rapid review into Bronson’s death.

Bronson’s mother, Sarah Piesse, revealed that she had last seen her son before Christmas after a disagreement with Kenneth. The postmortem examination confirmed that Bronson died from starvation and dehydration. Piesse expressed her grief, emphasizing that Bronson starved to death because his father had passed away.

Bronson’s sister, Melanie Battersby, paid a heartfelt tribute on Facebook, mourning his loss and urging others to remember his “little smile and soft nature” amid the profound sadness and anger surrounding the tragic incident.
