Trump Capitalizes on Candidacy by Selling $100,000 Watches During Presidential Campaign

Donald Trump has recently launched a new business venture amidst his 2024 presidential campaign: a line of diamond-encrusted watches. Introduced on Thursday, the “Official Trump Watch Collection” features a high-end model priced at $100,000, embellished with 122 diamonds and available in three styles made of 18-karat gold. Additionally, there is a more affordable option, the “Fight Fight Fight” watch, which is priced at $499.

This latest product launch comes just 40 days before Election Day, raising concerns about the blending of business with politics. Trump’s new venture follows a series of other Trump-branded products, including silver coins, Bibles, and sneakers.

According to the sales website, the proceeds from these watches do not directly support Trump’s campaign or business interests, as they operate under a “paid license agreement,” consistent with his previous business endeavors.

The release of the watch collection is particularly notable given Trump’s ongoing legal challenges, including a recent $489 million civil fraud judgment that a New York appellate court may reduce or reverse. Despite this scrutiny, Trump continues to intertwine his political persona with his entrepreneurial activities, a strategy that has been a hallmark of his brand for years.
