US President Donald Trump announced that he has postponed a planned military strike against Iran following requests from Gulf leaders. The development has added a new twist to ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
In a statement shared on the Social Truth platform, Trump confirmed that the United States had planned an attack on Iran. However, Trump delays the operation after appeals from leaders in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
According to Trump, Qatarโs Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed urged Washington to allow more time for negotiations.
Trump stated that discussions are currently taking place and there is hope for a diplomatic agreement. He said Gulf leaders believe a deal acceptable to the United States and regional countries can still be reached.
In his statement, Trump delays the military action while stressing that Iran must not obtain nuclear weapons. He said this condition remains central to any future agreement.
The US president added that he instructed military officials to remain fully prepared. He warned that a large-scale operation could still happen if negotiations fail.
Trump said Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and senior military commanders were directed to pause the attack for now. However, they were also told to stay ready for immediate action if necessary.
Meanwhile, Iran responded with strong warnings against any possible military strike. Officials from Iranโs Khatam al-Anbiya central headquarters stated that the countryโs armed forces are fully prepared.
Iranian military leaders warned the United States and its allies against making what they called strategic mistakes. They claimed Iranโs military capabilities are now stronger than before.
According to Iranian officials, any future attack would trigger a rapid and powerful response. The statement emphasized that Iranian forces remain on high alert.
As regional tensions continue, Trump delays the operation amid hopes that diplomacy could reduce the risk of conflict. Global observers are closely monitoring the negotiations and reactions from both sides.
The situation remains sensitive as Middle Eastern countries seek stability while avoiding further military escalation in the region.
