Trump Says US Seeks Peace as Iran Operations Near Completion, White House Says

US President Donald Trump does not want further conflict in Iran, according to the White House. Officials said Trumpโ€™s priority is to avoid more casualties while ensuring security for the United States and its allies.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that military operations against Iranian targets are nearly complete. She said recent actions have significantly reduced Iranโ€™s military capabilities. Trump has focused on limiting threats while maintaining pressure on Tehran.

Leavitt explained that in the past three weeks, US forces have targeted nearly 9,000 sites in Iran. These strikes reportedly reduced missile and drone attacks by about 90%. The operations included attacks on naval vessels, missile systems, and underground military infrastructure.

According to officials, around 140 Iranian naval vessels and 50 mine-laying ships were destroyed. Advanced weapons were used to target key defense systems. Leavitt described the campaign as one of the largest naval operations since World War II.

Trump has made it clear that the United States will not tolerate threats from Iran. At the same time, he has stressed the importance of peace. Leavitt said Trump does not want further death and destruction and prefers a diplomatic solution.

The White House also indicated that Iran may be ready for negotiations. Trump is open to talks if Iran agrees to stop hostile actions. A temporary pause on strikes against energy infrastructure shows a possible shift toward diplomacy.

However, officials warned that Iran must abandon its nuclear ambitions. Leavitt said failure to do so could lead to stronger military action. Trump remains firm on preventing any threat to US interests or allies.

In addition, Trump is scheduled to visit Beijing in mid-May. Preparations are underway to ensure smooth travel operations, including increased immigration support at airports.

The administration also urged caution regarding reports of negotiations through third countries. Officials said sensitive details will only be shared through official channels.
