Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has revealed that her brother is being kept in solitary confinement. She stated that the family has no information about his current condition.
Speaking outside an anti-terrorism court, Aleema Khan said that warrants were issued against her days ago, and their requests for additional time were ignored. She claimed that the court had gone on leave, leaving the family unable to present their case effectively.
Addressing a circulating photograph of Imran Khan, Aleema confirmed that the image was genuine but clarified that it was old. She emphasized that her brother is in solitary confinement, and the family remains uncertain about his health and safety.
Aleema Khan accused the government of not following court orders and deliberately delaying cases related to Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. She alleged that this was done to prevent bail and limit the family’s legal options.
Commenting on provincial administration, Aleema said it was a positive sign that the Sindh government was not blocking roads. However, in Punjab, roads were reportedly blocked due to the absence of a government with a public mandate. She described Sindh’s handling of the situation as “more sensible.”
The revelation of Imran Khan’s solitary confinement comes amid ongoing political tensions in the country. Supporters and legal experts have expressed concern over the lack of access to him and the conditions under which he is being held.
Aleema Khan’s statements have sparked national attention, highlighting ongoing challenges in Pakistan’s judicial and political landscape. Citizens and observers continue to call for transparency regarding the former prime minister’s detention and well-being.
