The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather update forecasting hot and dry conditions across most parts of the country during the early days of Ramadan. Minimal chances of rain are expected in the first ten days, with dry conditions prevailing throughout the day.
In cities like Lahore and Islamabad, temperatures are expected to stay below 30°C at the start of the month. Southern regions, however, may experience significantly higher temperatures, making fasting more challenging.
Some areas of Sindh and southern Punjab could see temperatures reaching up to 35°C. The increased heat may require extra precautions during fasting hours, officials advised.
In Karachi, a coastal city, light showers are possible due to the approach of a western weather system. Senior official Anjum Nazir said the drizzle may provide some relief, but the overall weather update indicates hot and dry conditions will persist.
During the first 20 days of Ramadan, Karachi’s temperatures are expected to range between 32°C and 34°C. Light rain may moderate the heat slightly, but the overall trend remains hot. Authorities warned the public to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged sun exposure during fasting hours.
The meteorological department further predicted that temperatures will rise in the last ten days of Ramadan, intensifying heat in most regions of the country.
Officials urged people to follow safety measures during the peak heat hours. The weather update serves as a reminder for communities to take care of vulnerable groups, including children and the elderly, during fasting.
Residents are advised to monitor local forecasts and adjust their daily routines accordingly to cope with the rising temperatures. The PMD continues to provide timely updates to keep the public informed throughout the holy month.
This Ramadan, early preparations and precautions will help minimize the impact of the expected hot and dry conditions, ensuring safe and healthy fasting across Pakistan.
