Over 100 Terrorists Killed in Pakistan Airstrikes in Afghanistan

Pakistan has carried out a series of Airstrikes in three provinces of Afghanistan, resulting in the deaths of more than 100 terrorists, according to Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry. The statement was made during a Senate session on Monday.

The meeting was chaired by Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani. During the session, the minister explained that the Airstrikes were conducted in response to ongoing terrorist attacks inside Pakistan. He said the operations were carried out as part of the country’s right to self-defense.

Chaudhry informed lawmakers that Pakistan had repeatedly shared evidence with Afghan authorities regarding terrorist activities originating from Afghanistan. According to him, information about militant hideouts and training camps had been presented to the Taliban administration.

The minister said Pakistan expected action against these networks. However, he claimed that no effective steps were taken by the Afghan authorities to dismantle the groups.

During negotiations, Chaudhry alleged that large financial demands were made for relocating militants away from the border areas. He also stated that Pakistan did not receive any written assurances that cross-border infiltration would stop.

Speaking about the military operations, the minister said the Airstrikes were based on detailed intelligence. He emphasized that the targets were terrorist hideouts and that civilians were not targeted during the operation.

According to the minister, more than 100 terrorists were killed during the strikes in Afghanistan. He described the action as a necessary step to protect Pakistan’s national security.

Chaudhry also highlighted recent terrorist incidents within Pakistan. He mentioned a recent attack at a mosque in Islamabad that resulted in the deaths of dozens of people. He further referred to attacks in Bajaur and Bannu, where security personnel were martyred.

“Our soldiers are sacrificing their lives to defend the country,” the minister said during the Senate session.

He added that many terrorist incidents in Pakistan are linked to networks operating across the border in Afghanistan. Because of this, Pakistan believes it has the right to take defensive action when necessary.

Despite the operations, Chaudhry said Pakistan still supports dialogue and peaceful engagement with Afghanistan. He stressed that cooperation remains important for regional stability.
