Officials reported that over 73 Afghan Taliban posts were destroyed, while 18 were captured. In some areas, Taliban fighters reportedly abandoned their positions and fled. Pakistani forces also hoisted the national flag on several captured posts.
Clashes were reported in border sectors including Chitral, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, and Kurram. Pakistani forces used artillery, drones, and aircraft during Ghazab Lil Haq. Security sources said enemy quadcopters were shot down during attempted attacks.
In addition, police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa foiled attacks by Fitna-e-Khawarij on multiple posts. One police officer and six civilians were injured.
Security was placed on high alert in Punjab and Karachi. Authorities tightened protection at mosques, embassies, and sensitive installations.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan would not compromise on sovereignty. President Asif Ali Zardari also warned against misreading Pakistanโs desire for peace as weakness.
US President Donald Trump commented on the tensions, saying Pakistan was handling the situation โterrifically well.โ He indicated he would not intervene.
