Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a Rs500 million tourism package to promote Hazara Division and attract more visitors to the scenic region. The initiative aims to improve tourism infrastructure while exploring new destinations that have remained largely untouched.
The package will focus on developing tourism in Hazara Division, with special attention given to Kolai-Palas and Alai. These areas are known for their natural beauty but have not yet reached their full tourism potential. The government hopes that better facilities and improved access will encourage both local and international tourists to visit.
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said the provincial government is committed to strengthening the tourism sector through additional investments. He announced that more funding would be provided to improve tourist facilities across the region. The planned upgrades include better accommodation, enhanced hospitality services, smoother traffic management, and stronger preparations for the monsoon season.
Officials believe these improvements will create a safer and more comfortable experience for travelers. Better infrastructure is also expected to support local businesses and generate new employment opportunities for people living in tourism-dependent communities.
Alongside the tourism package, the chief minister announced the formation of a commission to resolve the long-standing boundary dispute between the Chor Mali and Balej valleys. The government believes resolving the issue will support regional development and remove obstacles that have affected planning and public services in the area.
District administrations across Hazara Division have also been instructed to increase public engagement. Local authorities will work more closely with residents to address concerns and improve the delivery of public services. Officials said stronger communication with communities will help ensure development projects meet local needs.
Government representatives also reviewed progress on several ongoing initiatives across the region. They reported continued work on public development projects, improvements in complaint resolution systems, and the digitization of land records. These measures are intended to improve governance, increase transparency, and make public services more efficient.
The digitization of land records is expected to simplify property-related processes for residents and investors. Officials believe this step will also support future tourism and infrastructure projects by improving land management.
The Rs500 million tourism package reflects the provincial government’s broader strategy to strengthen the economy through sustainable tourism. By developing new destinations and upgrading existing facilities, the government hopes to make Hazara Division one of Pakistan’s leading tourist regions.

If implemented successfully, the initiative could increase visitor numbers, boost local businesses, and create long-term economic opportunities while preserving the area’s natural beauty. The government says continued investment and improved governance will play an important role in achieving these goals and making tourism a stronger contributor to the regional economy.
