Sindh Schools to Remain Closed on March 11 Across Province

All Schools and other educational institutions across Sindh will remain closed on March 11 to observe Youm-e-Ali. The day marks the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA), which falls on the 21st of Ramadan.

The Sindh government issued an official notification confirming the holiday. According to the announcement, both public and private Schools and colleges across the province will stay closed on Wednesday.

Authorities said the decision was made following recommendations by the provincial sub-committee of the steering committee on education. The committee reviews important matters related to academic schedules and institutional operations.

Youm-e-Ali is observed every year on the 21st day of Ramadan. The day commemorates the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA), the fourth Caliph of Islam.

Across Pakistan, religious gatherings and large processions are organized on this occasion. Security arrangements are also strengthened in many cities to ensure public safety.

Because of these events, the provincial government often announces holidays for Schools and other institutions. Officials say the closure helps maintain security and smooth traffic management during processions.

Parents and students have been advised to follow the government notification regarding the holiday. All educational activities will resume according to the regular schedule after March 11.

Meanwhile, a separate announcement has been made regarding educational institutions in Islamabad. Authorities in the federal capital have confirmed a spring break for schools and colleges.

The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) issued a notification about the upcoming holidays. According to the announcement, institutions operating under FDE will observe spring break from March 24 to March 27.

The break will apply to educational institutions located in both urban and rural areas of Islamabad. During this period, Schools will suspend regular academic activities.

Officials stated that the break aims to provide rest for students and staff before the next academic phase. The schedule also allows schools to complete administrative preparations for examinations.

After the spring break ends on March 27, institutions will reopen on March 30. Teachers will be required to attend on that day to finalize internal examination results.

Education authorities say these scheduled closures help ensure smooth academic management. They also allow institutions to organize administrative tasks effectively.
