The Lahore City Traffic Police have introduced new uniforms for traffic wardens under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s modern policing initiative.
A formal ceremony showcased the new attire, with Chief Traffic Officer Dr. Muhammad Athar Waheed and senior officials present. Starting Monday, March 9, all traffic personnel will perform duties in the updated uniforms across city roads.
The uniforms are designed for comfort and to present a citizen-friendly image. For summer, traffic wardens will wear navy blue pants, white shirts, and reflective jackets. In winter, a navy blue jersey will be added. Office staff and licensing center employees, both male and female, will wear navy blue pants, coats, ties, white shirts, and PK caps.
Dr. Athar Waheed highlighted that the colors, badges, and design follow international policing standards. The new uniforms aim to instill professionalism, increase public trust, and present traffic wardens as approachable helpers on city roads.
Alongside the uniform update, traffic police will receive vehicles equipped with modern technology. A multi-functional One App has also been launched to streamline operations.
The One App allows traffic wardens to access essential tools with a single click. Features include driving license and ID verification, e-challan management, crime records, stolen vehicle data, fitness certificates, and route permits. Officials say the app will reduce paperwork, save time, and improve operational efficiency.
By combining modern uniforms with digital tools like the One App, Lahore’s traffic police hope to create a professional and responsive force. Citizens will benefit from quicker service and improved road safety enforcement.
Dr. Athar Waheed added that this initiative is part of a broader vision to modernize policing in Lahore. The aim is to adopt international best practices while keeping traffic enforcement citizen-focused.
The launch of the One App is expected to transform daily operations, making it easier for traffic wardens to manage tasks efficiently. Officials believe this digital step, alongside the new uniforms, marks a significant upgrade for Lahore’s traffic system.
This modernization effort reflects the government’s commitment to public service, technology adoption, and a safer, more orderly urban environment.
