Karachi and Sindh Brace for Continued Rainfall Amid Western Weather System

KARACHI: Karachi and several districts in Sindh are expected to experience rainfall until March 29, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (Met Office) said on Thursday.

The city received early morning rainfall, and light showers or drizzles are likely to continue throughout the day. Weather experts warned citizens to exercise caution during unstable conditions.

Sporadic rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds is expected across many districts of Sindh. The wet spell is predicted to take a short break on March 27, before resuming on March 28 and 29.

Karachiโ€™s maximum temperature is expected to reach 32ยฐC today, with humidity at 79%. Winds are blowing at around 11 kilometers per hour. Authorities advised residents to stay alert, especially in low-lying areas prone to water accumulation.

Several parts of Karachi, including Metroville, SITE Area, Nazimabad, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Saddar, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Clifton Sea View, and Lyari, received rainfall earlier on Thursday. Other neighborhoods like Scheme 33, Safoora Chowrangi, NIPA, and Hassan Square also reported wet conditions.

The western weather system influencing Karachi is part of a larger pattern affecting other parts of the country. Rainfall has already been recorded in Chaman and other areas of Balochistan. Meteorologists said the system of western winds is likely to continue impacting weather patterns across Pakistan.

Authorities continue to monitor conditions, urging citizens to remain cautious as thunderstorms and heavy rainfall may develop in some areas. The Met Office emphasized that the ongoing rainfall could affect traffic and outdoor activities in Karachi and surrounding districts.
