The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has rejected the notion of providing special security arrangements for the upcoming World Cup 2023, which is set to be held in India. In response to a request from Pakistan for heightened security measures, the ministry emphasized that Pakistan’s team holds equal importance as other participating teams.
An official spokesperson from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs clarified that adequate security will be provided to all teams, including the arch-rivals, whenever and wherever it is deemed necessary.

Earlier this week, the government of Pakistan made the decision to send its team, known as the Men in Green, to India for their participation in the World Cup scheduled for October-November.
The decision to participate comes after a comprehensive assessment, including security considerations, conducted by a committee led by former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The committee, consisting of 14 members, submitted its report to the Prime Minister after a meeting in Lahore last week.
Notably, the much-anticipated match between the arch-rivals is scheduled for October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
