Government Reduces Kerosene Oil Price by Rs7.23 Per Litre

Government Reduces Kerosene Oil Price by Rs7.23 Per Litre

The government has announced another reduction in fuel prices by lowering the rate of Kerosene Oil across Pakistan.

According to an official notification, the price of Kerosene Oil has been reduced by Rs7.23 per litre with immediate effect. After the latest adjustment, the new price has been fixed at Rs311.73 per litre.

Before the revision, Kerosene Oil was being sold at Rs318.96 per litre in the local market.

The latest reduction came only a day after the government lowered the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel. Officials said the revised rates are now effective nationwide.

This is the second major reduction in kerosene prices in recent days. During the previous week, the government had already reduced the price of kerosene by Rs41.80 per litre.

The repeated cuts are being seen as part of the government’s broader fuel pricing adjustments amid changing international oil market conditions.

Fuel prices in Pakistan have remained unstable over recent months due to global economic uncertainty and rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

International crude oil prices continue to affect domestic petroleum rates because Pakistan relies heavily on imported fuel products.

Kerosene Oil is commonly used in remote and rural areas of the country where access to natural gas remains limited. Many households depend on kerosene for cooking, heating, and lighting purposes.

The latest reduction is expected to provide some financial relief to low-income families, especially in colder and underdeveloped regions where kerosene usage remains high.

Traders and consumers have welcomed the price cut, saying lower fuel costs can help reduce household expenses during difficult economic conditions.

Energy experts, however, believe future fuel prices will still depend on international oil trends, currency exchange rates, and regional political developments.

Over the past few months, Pakistan has experienced multiple increases and decreases in fuel prices due to fluctuations in global energy markets.

The government has been reviewing petroleum product prices more frequently because of continued uncertainty in global oil supplies and shipping routes.

Officials say the latest price revision reflects changes in international petroleum rates and local taxation adjustments.

Economic analysts also noted that lower fuel prices can help ease inflationary pressure on transport and household spending, although the impact may remain temporary if global oil prices rise again.
