Hot and dry Weather has returned across Punjab, including Lahore, as temperatures continue to rise under clear skies. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has advised people to take precautionary measures to avoid heat-related illnesses.
According to the PMD, the sun remained intense from the early hours of the morning, causing temperatures to increase steadily throughout the day. The hot conditions are expected to continue as no major rain-producing system is currently affecting Lahore or most parts of Punjab.
In Lahore, the minimum temperature was recorded at 28 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature is expected to reach around 40 degrees Celsius, making it another very warm day for residents.
The latest Weather forecast indicates that dry conditions will continue across much of the province. Strong sunshine during the daytime is expected to increase the heat, especially during the afternoon hours.
Meteorologists say there is currently no significant weather system capable of producing widespread rainfall. However, local cloud formation may develop in some areas, resulting in partly cloudy skies and a slight chance of light rain in isolated locations.
Officials have advised citizens to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours. They also recommend drinking plenty of water, wearing light clothing, and staying in shaded or air-conditioned places whenever possible.
The Met Office has also shared encouraging news for the coming week. A new Weather system is expected to enter Pakistan on July 2, bringing the possibility of rainfall to several districts of Punjab.
Lahore is among the cities that could receive rain once the new system becomes active. If the forecast remains unchanged, rainfall is expected to lower daytime temperatures and provide relief from the ongoing heat.
Experts believe the arrival of the rain-bearing system could improve overall weather conditions across the province. It may also reduce the intensity of the heatwave affecting many cities.
Residents are advised to stay updated with official weather forecasts, as local conditions can change quickly during the summer season. Authorities also encourage the public to follow heat safety guidelines, particularly children, elderly people, and those working outdoors.
The PMD will continue monitoring atmospheric conditions and issue further advisories if required. Until the new system arrives, hot and dry Weather is expected to dominate across Lahore and much of Punjab.

With temperatures remaining high, health experts recommend limiting exposure to direct sunlight and taking regular breaks if working outside. The expected rainfall next week may offer much-needed relief after several days of intense summer heat.
