Basant Festival Approved for 2027

The enforcement campaign comes as Punjab prepares for the return of Basant celebrations.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved a 10-day Basant festival across the province. The celebrations are scheduled to take place from January 29 to February 7, 2027.

The festival will mark the arrival of 2027 with organized celebrations across Punjab. The approval follows Basant’s return to the province last year after a 25-year break.

Authorities are preparing for the upcoming festivities while emphasizing public safety. Officials have urged residents to follow the required precautions before participating in the celebrations.

Lahore Administration Introduces Safety Measures

The Lahore district administration has appealed to residents to complete safety arrangements before Basant 2027.

Officials said the measures aim to protect lives and reduce risks during the festival. Authorities are also taking steps to control the movement of kite-flying materials.

The district administration has imposed a complete ban on transporting kite-flying materials through courier companies and transport services within Lahore.

The restriction aims to prevent the unauthorized movement of materials used in kite flying. Authorities are expected to enforce the measure as preparations for Basant continue.

Strict Enforcement to Continue Across Punjab

Police officials have emphasized that enforcement against illegal kite flying will continue throughout the province.

The reported arrests, registered cases, and recovered materials reflect the scale of the ongoing operation. Authorities are also focusing on illegal metal strings and online kite businesses.

Meanwhile, preparations for Basant 2027 are progressing alongside the enforcement campaign. Officials are encouraging residents to follow safety instructions and comply with applicable restrictions.
