The Provincial Election Commission (PEC) in Sindh has wrapped up its preparations for conducting fair, free, and transparent elections, covering 61 National Assembly seats and 130 Provincial Assembly seats. Provincial Election Commissioner Sindh, Sharifullah, and Joint Election Commissioner Nazar Abbas shared this information during a joint press conference at the PEC office.
According to Sharifullah, apart from the general seats, elections will also be held for 14 reserved seats for women in the National Assembly, along with 29 reserved seats for women and nine seats for minorities in the Sindh Assembly. All arrangements are in their final stages, with preparations now focused on the upcoming polling day.

Ballot papers have been delivered to all districts, and bags, ready for delivery to polling staff on February 7, are in place. District Returning Officers have established a transportation plan for dispatching and retrieving ballot papers. Facilities for Returning Officers have been provided at designated points where results will be announced.
With the support of the provincial caretaker government, a security plan has been devised, including the installation of CCTV cameras at highly sensitive polling stations. The transportation of polling material to the stations is set for February 7, and polling will commence at approximately 8 am on February 8. After the polling and counting process, presiding officers will return to the same point, handing over bags and results to the respective returning officers.
Joint Election Commissioner Nazar Abbas highlighted that 6,524 polling stations in Sindh are declared highly sensitive, and District Returning Officers will handle security matters in collaboration with security forces. Police and Rangers personnel will be deployed at highly sensitive polling stations, while Army soldiers will be stationed where deemed necessary by the District Administration.
