Google Pays Tribute to KK with Doodle on Bollywood Debut Anniversary

On October 25, Google honored the legacy of celebrated Indian playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, with an animated doodle marking the anniversary of his Bollywood debut. KK’s first song, Chhod Aaye Hum, debuted in 1996 in Gulzar’s Maachis, launching his illustrious career. The doodle captures KK singing into a microphone, surrounded by music notes and the Google logo.

Google’s tribute highlights KK’s versatility, honoring his extensive contributions to Indian music in Hindi and numerous regional languages like Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali. Known for iconic tracks like Khuda Jaane and Ankhon Mein Teri, KK’s voice became synonymous with emotional depth across more than 500 Hindi songs and countless regional hits.

KK’s musical journey began in 1994 through commercial jingles before his first album, Pal, cemented his reputation in 1999. The legendary singer passed away in 2022 after a concert in Kolkata, with fans and family, including his son Nakul, remembering his impact and passion.

The doodle serves as a heartfelt tribute to KK’s enduring legacy in Indian music.
