Meta Platforms has enhanced its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses with new AI-powered video and live translation features. These updates, available through the v11 software update, are being rolled out to users in the “Early Access Program.”

The glasses now feature an AI chatbot assistant capable of processing video in real-time and responding to user questions. Additionally, the smart glasses can translate speech in real-time between English and languages like Spanish, French, and Italian. The translations are either heard through the glasses’ speakers or displayed as transcripts on the user’s phone.
Meta has also integrated Shazam, allowing users to identify songs, and added tools for setting reminders and scanning QR codes with voice commands. The new features are currently available in the US and Canada.
