A delegation from the International Cricket Council (ICC) is scheduled to visit Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium this Saturday to assess the ongoing preparations for the 2025 Champions Trophy. The visit forms part of the second phase of the ICC’s tour across Pakistan, aimed at reviewing arrangements ahead of the prestigious tournament.
The six-member delegation, which includes ICC officials, broadcasters, and logistics personnel, will inspect construction and renovation work at the stadium. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director of International Cricket, Usman Wahla, will provide a comprehensive briefing on the progress made so far. Rawalpindi is slated to host three key matches, including Pakistan vs Bangladesh on February 27.
After completing the Rawalpindi inspection, the ICC delegation will head to Lahore to review the facilities and ongoing upgrades at Gaddafi Stadium. Earlier this week, the team visited Karachi’s National Bank Stadium, evaluating its readiness for the tournament.
This visit marks the ICC’s fourth inspection tour of Pakistan as they ensure all venues meet the required standards ahead of the tournament’s February 19 start. The Champions Trophy will be played across Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Dubai, with eight teams competing in 15 matches.
The tournament’s opening match between Pakistan and New Zealand is scheduled for February 19 in Karachi, while the much-anticipated Pakistan-India clash will take place in Dubai on February 23.
