As per the Meteorological Department, the likelihood of spotting the moon today is extremely low. The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council has forecasted that the first fast (Roza) is expected to fall on Sunday.
Experts have explained that sighting the moon on Friday, February 28, is improbable, as its age at sunset will be under 14 hours, whereas at least 19 hours are needed for visibility.
For the moon to be visible, its angular distance from the sun should be at least 10 degrees, but today it will only be 5 degrees.
Additionally, the time gap between sunset and moonset should be at least 40 minutes. However, it will be just 30 minutes in Quetta and Jiwani, and only 29 minutes in other regions.
