In Quetta, police have filed charges against Dr. Mahrang Baloch, leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), along with 150 individuals, for allegedly attacking the morgue at Civil Hospital and inciting violence.
The case originates from an incident where members of a human rights movement reportedly stormed the morgue and removed the bodies of five militants who were killed during an operation against train hijackers.

An FIR has been registered under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) and Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), listing charges such as terrorism, murder, attempted murder, incitement to violence, public disorder, and racial hatred.
Following the incident, Mahrang Baloch and 17 others were detained over the weekend under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance. Police allege that BYC leaders encouraged rioters to fire at officers, bystanders, and even their own protesters, leading to three deaths and injuries to 15 police personnel.
A separate FIR at Civil Lines Police Station accuses 100 to 150 BYC supporters of storming Civil Hospital’s morgue, seizing the bodies, and attacking an ambulance driver while transporting them.
Reports indicate that Mahrang Baloch’s arrest has not been officially disclosed, but authorities confirm she remains in Quetta District Jail under MPO provisions.
Meanwhile, protests and shutter-down strikes continue across Balochistan, with widespread unrest in Kalat, Kharan, Chaghi, Turbat, Mastung, Dalbandin, Dhadar, and Panjgur. The situation remains tense as pressure mounts on authorities to take action and address the ongoing turmoil.
