The repatriation of illegal Afghan residents and Afghan Citizen Card holders from Pakistan continues to accelerate, with authorities reporting that over 3,956 undocumented individuals were sent back to Afghanistan on April 21 alone. This brings the total number of Afghans who have voluntarily or forcibly returned since the deadline expired to 983,442.
The Pakistani government has stepped up legal action against foreign nationals staying in the country without valid documentation, reinforcing its policy of removing those who remain past the set deadline. Afghan Citizen Card holders are also being repatriated under the same campaign.

Officials maintain that all repatriation efforts are being carried out in a dignified manner, with safeguards in place to prevent mistreatment of returnees. The government has reiterated its commitment to handling the process with care, ensuring that basic human rights are respected throughout the operation.
Pakistan’s repatriation drive comes amid growing concerns about border management and internal security. Authorities are expected to continue enforcement measures in the coming weeks as the number of undocumented individuals still residing in the country dwindles.
