Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met in Istanbul on Sunday, reaffirming their commitment to elevate the bilateral strategic partnership between Pakistan and Turkiye to new heights. The warm and cordial meeting took place at the start of Shehbazโs two-day official visit as part of a regional tour.
Accompanied by Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and key cabinet ministers, Shehbaz expressed gratitude for Turkiyeโs unwavering support during Pakistanโs recent conflict with India. He praised the solidarity shown by the Turkish government and people, calling it a source of strength and comfort for Pakistan.

The leaders reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations, emphasizing mutual support on core issues like the Kashmir dispute and pledging to work together for regional peace and shared prosperity. They agreed to deepen cooperation across sectors such as energy, information technology, defence production, infrastructure, and agriculture.
The meeting also touched on the urgent humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with both leaders calling for an immediate ceasefire and unrestricted humanitarian aid. President Erdogan hosted a dinner for the Pakistani delegation, underscoring the historic and brotherly ties rooted in shared values and a common vision for progress.
