PCB Suspends Haider Ali Over Rape Allegations in Manchester

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended batter Haider Ali on disciplinary grounds after serious allegations surfaced during the Pakistan Shaheens’ tour of England.

According to local authorities in Manchester, Haider Ali was arrested over allegations of sexual assault. He has since been released on bail but remains under investigation.

As part of his bail conditions, he is prohibited from leaving the United Kingdom. He is expected to appear before authorities again in two weeks.

The PCB confirmed that the player will receive legal support to ensure his rights are protected throughout the process. The suspension will remain in place until the case is concluded.

After legal proceedings are complete, the board will decide if further disciplinary action is necessary. The PCB has also stated that no additional details will be shared until the matter is resolved.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Shaheens, led by Muhammad Irfan Khan, are set to travel to Darwin, Australia, to take part in the Top End T20 Series. The tournament, featuring 11 teams, will run from 14 to 24 August. Pakistan will face Bangladesh ‘A’ in their opening match.

Two changes have been made to the 15-member squad. Haider Ali has been replaced by Mohammad Faiq, while fast bowler Mohammad Wasim Jnr has been included in place of left-arm pacer Salman Mirza.

The PCB’s swift action underlines its stance on disciplinary matters, ensuring both due process and the integrity of the sport.
