ISLAMABAD: The United States has extended humanitarian support to Pakistan to help flood victims through its Army Central Command (US ARCENT).
According to a statement from the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), six relief flights have been scheduled. These flights are carrying essential supplies, including tents, dewatering pumps, and generators.
The first consignment arrived on Saturday. A reception ceremony was held, attended by the US Charge d’Affaires and the Commander of US ARCENT. They formally handed over the goods to the Pakistan Army. The supplies will now be sent to Army Flood Relief Camps for distribution among flood victims in different areas.
The ISPR said the Government and people of Pakistan highly appreciate the support from the United States. The statement added that such cooperation shows solidarity in times of difficulty and ensures timely assistance for communities in need.
The relief goods will help thousands of families who lost their homes, crops, and livelihoods during recent floods. Many flood victims are living in temporary shelters and remain dependent on food and medical aid.
Officials emphasized that continued support from international partners is crucial for recovery efforts. Beyond emergency supplies, long-term assistance is also needed to rebuild damaged infrastructure and restore livelihoods.
Pakistan has faced repeated flood disasters in recent years, with climate change intensifying rainfall and river flooding. Authorities are working with aid partners to strengthen disaster response and prepare vulnerable communities for future challenges.
This latest effort reflects strong cooperation between Pakistan and the United States. It highlights the importance of humanitarian partnerships in helping flood victims recover and rebuild their lives.
